How do i make the best Choice?
If you are interested in accessing our services, then we can arrange for member of our helpful quality team to discuss care package options and attend your home to carry out a needs assessment. The outcomes of this assessment will help you to make an informed decision on the nature and frequency of care you may require.
How are my wishes and concerns recognised?
We at 1st Class Care pride ourselves on collaborating with you to identify your likes, dislikes, and preferences towards developing a personally tailored care plan which meets your needs. Your wishes are discussed with you during the initial care plan assessment. If you are unsure whether your specific preferences can be accommodated, why not give us a call and one of our helpful team can discuss your likes and dislikes to help you decide on whether 1st Class Care is the right choice for you. If you are concerned with an aspect of the care that you receive then you can simply pick up the phone and chat to a member of our senior management team and we will aim to problem-solve your concerns.
How much does it cost and how is it paid for?
The cost of care and the means with which it is paid for varies considerably depending upon your specific care needs and your personal circumstances. There are two broad funding options. Option 1 is when your care is funded by the Local Authority. You may be entitled to funding and can find out by contacting the Local Authority or their Self-Directed Support team. Option 2 is when you pay for your own care and there are several means by which we can facilitate you doing so. If you require any further advice or information about funding, then please call us and one of our helpful team will be able to assist you.
Are the Staff properly vetted and trained?
All our staff undergo an initial screening, interview, reference checks and vetting through Disclosure Scotland. Those that successfully pass the vetting process then complete a 5-day training course. He training course includes modules on safe-guarding and adult protection, manual handling, and medication administration. Once their basic training is complete, staff go through a period of ‘on the job’ training through shadowing experienced carers. The length of the shadowing period varies depending upon the new carers level of experience and readiness to work independently which is assessed by their mentors and our specialist Quality team through spot checks. Staff also undergo annual refresher training and specific training when training needs are identified. Within 6 months of being recruited and trained, all staff must be registered with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) and adhere to the SSSC Codes of Practice.
